Holiday Yummies

In celebration of the season I wanted to ask you what your favorite holiday food was.

Cookies?
Ham?
Some family casserole?
Fudge?

Well, for me one of my favorites is shortbread.

Its a yummy, melt in your mouth dessert from jolly ol' England. Yes, Wadsworth is my real name, not a made up pen name. My family came from Bradford, England and moved to Detroit, Michigan just before my grandfather was born. This is an old family recipe...not too complicated but delicious and every time I eat it I am amazed by how sometimes the simplest things are the best.

From my family to yours, enjoy!

SCOTCH SHORTBREAD

Cream 1 cup butter and 3/4 cup powdered sugar till light and fluffy
Stir in 2 1/2 cup flour
Press into ungreased 8x8 pan
Bake 25-30 min at 300
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut while warm

What about you? Do you have a favorite recipe? I would love to hear what they are and if you like to share recipes, I would love to try a new one!

Yum! I love shortbread, thanks for posting this recipe.

My favorite items to make around the holidays are homemade caramel and fudge.
