I'm not talking the lovely floral border along your bedroom wall--I'm talking character wallpaper, the handsome man on your work desktop who continually reminds you, 'YOU SHOULD BE WRITING.' Yeah, well -- I gotta keep a roof over my head as well, and since my stories aren't quite doing that, I gotta work.

But right now, it's Dash. Some writers have entire folders of their characters, and I do admit, I have a folder with a few photos in (mostly baseball players)--but the wallpaper posting seems to work better for me, it's like 'Casey Rupp' is with me all day long and therefore, my writing is with me as well.

Ah, yes -- so this is how the mind of a writer works. Sadly, it seems only other writers understand that.
So, if you see your coworker glassy-eyed and gazing at some unknown male on their desktop, don't think them mad, just gently pat them on the shoulder and say, 'Write later, but now go back to work.' They'll thank you for just understanding!
Happy Wall Papering!

I never considered wallpapering at work. What a great idea! I do have a file folder full of potential heroes and heroines (and another for villains). When I see a photo that screams "hunky hero" I clip and store for the future.
I love this post, Wendy, I do have one of those character/clip folders. I haven't used a hero as wallpaper for a while, but you've inspired me to do that again. (And, yes, Russell Crowe, awesome Toledo Detective)
