I've decided I'm never leaving my house--I just can't, the VOICES they won't stop talking to me!
Before you grab your cell phone and hit 911--it's okay, my writer friends understand what I'm talking about.
It happened again last weekend at, of all places, the Greek American Festival in downtown Toledo, Ohio. I'm sitting at a table with a dear friend, nibbling on slouvaki and spanakopita, and I see a candidate for something wander in with his candidiate-tshirted-tribe. I couldn't help watch the interaction between that small group and the festival-goers they waded through. I'd seen the same candidate on two different street corners within 30 minutes the weekend before.
So, I'm watching and my friend turns to watch as well, wondering what I'm looking at. I mentioned through a mouthful of phyllo, "I just wrote half a story in my head."
"Oh, so that's how that works," she said. "Does this happen a lot?"
Everyday, all day long...
Now, if I only could get paid for those stories 'in' my head and not have to take the time and effort to actually write them down!
