Welcome to the official blog of Maumee Valley Romance Writers of America! We're a local writers' group in the Toledo, Ohio area. Most of us write romance, but we also have members who write other genres too. New members are always welcome to visit or join the group. See the meetings page for details. We post every Monday and Friday about all things book-related. Whether you're a writer, reader, or both, we hope you'll stop by often and get to know our dozen contributors.

Maumee Valley Romance Writers of America (MVRWA) is the local chapter of Romance Writers of America based in Toledo, Ohio. Our purpose is to advance the professional interest of career-focused romance writers through networking and advocacy.

MVRWA members are friendly and welcoming. We encourage each other through the ups and downs of our careers. We have members struggling to finish their first book while others have many manuscripts written and are looking for a publisher. We also have published authors, from debut to multi-published, who've been writing over a decade. No matter what stage your writing career is at, we can identify with you.

Topics of interest to our chapter include brainstorming for ideas, writing contests, submitting to editors, finding an agent (without losing your dignity or your mind), dealing with your first publishing contract, and promoting your work. And yes, we'll hold your hand when those nasty rejection letters foul your mailbox.

Romance Writers of America is an international professional organization dedicated to furthering the interest of career-minded romance writers. You must be a member of RWA to join our local chapter.

You're invited to attend two MVRWA meetings to see if RWA and the local chapter is a good fit for you.
